Japanese Whisky Smokey Takezaru
Get inspired from Switzerland's largest Japanese Whisky Collection and stir at home our creation. The Smokey Takezaru makes for a classic after-dinner drink for two or to be enjoyed with friends. Served in the classic old fashion glass, this sip of Whisky is muddled with smoked dry Martini Rosso & Bianco is infused with Italian botanicals, plums, the scarlet-hued vermouth, drops of the sweet-sour maraschino liqueur, coriander and angostura bitters. Garnish your glass with clove-smoked aromas and a twist of orange. Recipe serves one.
40 ml of Japanese whisky (our collection here)
15 ml Martini Bianco infused with smoked plums (grill 2 plums over open fire or barbecue grill for 5 minutes; set aside to cool. Place the smoked plums in the Martini Bianco and leave to infuse for 24-48 hours prior to cocktail preparation)
10 ml Martini Rosso or red vermouth
5 ml Maraschino
A dash of coriander bitter
A dash of angostura bitter
Place 5 ice cubes in a mixing glass, add in all the ingredients and shake well. Use strainer to pour into an old fashion glass with a big ice cube and garnish with an orange zest (smoked with cloves to taste).
