Alpina Tea Selection
As a daily ritual, iced under a parasol by the Six Senses outdoor pool on the terrace or once the friandise are pulled out and the fine China makes its entrance onto the dinner table – this ancient beverage can be drunk hot or cold. Apart from its health promoting elements, tea is also a pleasurable way to get the much-needed fluids our bodies need. You don’t have to be a tea lover to explore our rich tea selection at The Alpina Gstaad. Tea is always a good excuse to snuggle up over a good book in one of our comfortable lounge armchairs, invite a friend or partner for a relaxed get-together or just lay out on our pool deck, sip and let the cool mountain breeze soothe your skin.
The selective tea menu combines true teas, tisanes or a mixture of both, serving flavoured teas. Our true tea selection serves: green tea, white tea and black tea. The Camellia sinensis plant (the tea plant) undergoes less processing when we speak of green and white teas, which is also cued by maintaining its natural green colour and fragrance. Take time to learn more about Jasmin Pearl, Sencha Yamato or the Shincha Yame on our menu. Our black teas Assam Halmari, Georgian Sup and Qimen Haoya are oxidized, while the Chinese Oolong tea Tie Guan Yin is partially oxidized. Our herbal teas include the popular after-dinner Verveine, Berner Rosen produced with a selection of regional herbs or the national Swiss Edelweiss. For tea with a twist, the classic Earl Grey or Indian Chai will not fail to impress your tastebuds.
For a refreshing summer beverage, our Alpina Ice Tea has become a favourite amongst our guests. Enjoy this sugar-free tisane prepared using seasonal local herbs in which amongst others, includes notes of lemon balm, thyme, rosemary and rose petals. The perfect cooldown to be enjoyed during hot summer afternoons by the pool or privately on your balcony with a view.
